Invite God’s Presence Tonight With this Powerful Evening Prayer Before You Sleep. This is a prayer to our almighty lord and savior Jesus Christ, and before we pray, we must understand that Psalm 34, verse 18 says the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saved such as have a contrite spirit.
Another translation says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Brokenness is necessary for a believer. It must be found in our character as Christians.
The Bible tells us that God is near to the brokenhearted, one may ask what is to be broken hearted or what is brokenness? Brokenness is not having your heart crushed or to have a collision with the devil.
Rather, it is the process where God brings us to the end of ourselves, and then he brings us into total trust and into total love and submission in him. He smoothes out all and even edges in your life and removes all that is not of him. All impurities and all unrighteousness.
In Hebrews 12, we are told, do not despise the chastening of the Lord nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by him for whom the Lord loves, he chases and scourges every son whom he receives. The process of brokenness in our lives means our personal pride has to be removed or will has to go. Our selfish ambitions have to go. Instead, our cry becomes thy will be done. O Lord.
Brokenness mustn’t be avoided, it must be embraced, for it produces the fear of God, it brings forth a growth and a maturity in a believer. Brokenness brings you to a place of repentance where you can truly turn away from your sins. Genuine prayer only happens when it’s coming from a clean and broken heart.
When you have an attitude of self-denial which says thy will, oh, Lord. It’s from that perspective that we should pray, therefore it’s necessary for us to approach God with humility and brokenness of heart. And so now join me in prayer.
My heavenly father in the name of Jesus, the name that was given power above every other name. We bow down to King Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Thank you for your love over my life. Thank you for your mercies, which are new for me every morning. Thank you for your power. That wakes me up each and every morning. I commit and surrender myself totally and completely into your hands.
Lord, my spirit, my soul and my body. Father, I ask that you mold me. I ask that you refine me, remove what is not from you, Lord, and make me the best that I can be for you. Feel me up to overflow according to your will of God.
I want to be more like you, Father. Make me a true ambassador with a mandate to represent you to the whole world by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. I pray, Father, for the boldness to preach Jesus to those who are lost in this world.
I pray, Lord Jesus, that you remove and empty me of everything that has nothing to do with you. Fill me with your spirit and let my life be totally consumed by your power. Holy Spirit, I invite you to come into my heart, I pray that just like Paul, I too may say that I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
I pray, Lord Jesus, that you, grace favor and your love for me be renewed every day, I pray for the God that I may be completely subdued and humbled before you. Oh, Lord, may all of my prayers, my motives, my deeds and conduct be genuine and to your glory.
My thoughts and my words, even my intentions, father. May they be pure and pleasing to you? I thank you for your word, which says you do not delight in sacrifices you are not pleased with, but offerings, but you desire a broken heart.
A broken and contrite heart. My desire is that I may always be broken before you. May I be humbled and willing before you? I pray that through the brokenness of my heart, my life will be transformed for the good and the benefit of the kingdom of God.
I pray that when I confess my sins, when I confess before you, may I approach you with genuine brokenness. And may lead to true repentance, knowing that I am standing and I am bowing down before a holy God.
Help me Lord, to have the self-denial attitude that says more of you and less of me. Let your will be done in my life. I pray, Father, that my life and my mind be a clean field where you can plant and grow and harvest Kingdom fruits that will last.
Fruits of love, peace, long suffering and joy. I pray that may brokenness be my lifestyle and my way of approaching you, Lord. Let it not be a one off experience, but let brokenness be the condition of my heart.
Help me, Lord, to approach the throne of grace boldly and with a humbled spirit. May I always come to you with expectation and a yielded heart. I pray that I may be like clay in your hands and you be the potter so that you may mold me and shape me into whatever you want me to be for your use.
My life is in your hands. Surround me a lot with broken, meek and humble people. Those who I can learn from and who can rub onto me godly things. I pray that humility be my portion.
Father God, you would says in Psalm 24, who may ascend the mountain of the Lord who may stand in his holy place. The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol, may be able to ascend into the mountain of the Lord help me that I may have clean hands and a pure heart.
I thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness. We lift up our faith and place our confidence in you so that we will be victorious in the end through the mighty name of Jesus.
Father, you would says, surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I claim that today I declare that in my life that surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.
And that includes breakthroughs over the obstacles of the enemy. That means we have to power through the blood of Jesus Christ to overcome the enemy daily, to overcome the sins of the flesh daily, to have break through in the spirit realm daily.
I ask, father that you direct our steps and you fulfill your plan for our lives. Let our feet run swiftly to follow after you. help us, Lord Jesus, in our priorities so that we may not chase the breakthrough, but rather chase you, Lord, the source of the breakthrough.
Strengthen us so that our eyes may be fixed on you, Lord Jesus, I pray and I believe for a supernatural breakthrough. May we begin to see victory and breakthroughs that work in our lives.
