Most Merciful and Loving Father,
We give You thanks, O Lord, for the gift of this day, and for all the blessings, seen and unseen, that You have bestowed upon us. In moments of joy and in times of trial, You have been our steadfast refuge, our unshakeable Rock. We are eternally grateful for Your unwavering presence and Your boundless love, poured out for us through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
We humbly beseech You, O Lord, to forgive us our sins, both those committed knowingly and those committed in ignorance, that have offended Your Divine Majesty or caused harm to our brothers and sisters. Cleanse us, O Lord, with the Precious Blood of Your Son. Our deepest desire is to live a life pleasing to You, to serve You faithfully, and to grow ever closer to the perfect image of Christ. Grant us the grace to draw nearer to Your Sacred Heart, that Christ may be fully formed within us, guiding our every thought, word, and deed.
O Lord, our God, we commit this night into Your loving hands. You are the Great Shepherd, the Watchman who never slumbers, who sees into the deepest darkness and protects Your flock from all harm. We pray against every snare and deception of the Evil One, and we declare, in the mighty Name of Jesus, that no weapon forged against us or our loved ones shall prosper. Isaiah 54:17.
Grant us, we pray, peaceful rest beneath the shadow of Your wings. May we find solace and strength in You alone, our Fortress and our Redeemer. We lift up our families to You, O Lord. Envelop their homes with Your peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding. Shield them from all evil, and fill their hearts with the awareness of Your goodness, that they may be moved to offer You praise and adoration, now and forever.
O Merciful Father, as we rest in Your embrace, we are reminded of Your constant faithfulness. You are our Shield and our Protector, guarding us from the setting of the sun to its rising. The darkness holds no fear, for You, the Light of the World, the true Lumen Christi, are ever with us. Help us to fix our minds and hearts on Your goodness and mercy as we surrender to sleep. Banish all anxiety and fear concerning the morrow, for we trust in Your providence and know that You will walk with us every step of the way.
We apply the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, over our home – upon every doorpost and window, as a sign of Your protection and a seal of Your covenant. Let Your Blood, O Lord, be our defense and our shield, keeping us safe and secure throughout this night. Exodus 12:13.
Lord of Hosts, God of Angel Armies, You are a God of wonders, and to serve You is our greatest joy and highest calling. We thank You for Your constant provision, for Your healing touch, for redeeming us from sin and death, and for calling us Your beloved children. You have done great things for us, O Lord, and we choose to rejoice in Your goodness, regardless of our circumstances. Psalm 126:3.
We offer this prayer, and all our petitions, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and all the angels and saints, and in the Almighty and Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord and Savior.
